Ted Blaylock

Ted Blaylock was born in the Ozarks and grew up in St. Louis, Montana. In his early adult life he worked an assortment of different 'tough jobs' that had nothing to do with the art world, although he continued to love art. Which is why his leisure time was spent developing his talent to draw and paint. By 1965, As a self-taught artist, Blaylock was ready to make art his full time career; in 1969 he opened his own art studio and gallery in Collinsville, Illinois. In 1972, he headed to Arizona to exhibit and further his art career.

His art has been published worldwide and he supports conservation organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, National Wildlife Federation, Pheasants Forever and many others. Because of his continued support and depition of wildlife he was selected to show with the top one hundred Artists for the National Parks and Birds in Art, at Leight Yawkey Woodson Museum. Blaylock Art was also selected for the 1990-91 Arizona Duck Stamp and Arizona Lifetime Trout Stamp in 1994. His print of a South Bald Eagle family in the Salt River Canyon has helped raise funds for the Arizona Nest Watch Program.

"I paint and sculpt subjects that I really enjoy. I try to study my subject and setting so as to relay that personal moment of creating to the viewer. I thank the Lord for the talent he has given me, and have yet to wake up thinking of my art as a job." -Ted Blaylock
