Wayne Christopher draws inspiration form the towering strength and subtle grace of classical architecture; each piece of work is a travel thought history on paper or canvas, conveying appreciation for art forms of the often distant past. Born in 1964 in Corpus Christi, Texas, Wayne studied architectural design and art at Rice University in Houston, and over two summers, traveled the Mediterranean and France. It was on these trips that Wayne photo documented examples of differing schools of architectural design, about which, he has stated: “I’m fascinated by the contradiction between the power and delicacy of these magnificent forms. Every structure has the ability to disguise itself either by blending in or standing bold among other architectural accomplishments.”
