William Verdult was a Dutch painter who referred to himself as the “Dutch Master.” Born on April 7, 1939 in Putte, Netherlands, Verdult has created a diverse body of work, including a series of Native American portraits, landscapes, and abstract paintings. About his work, the artist has said, "The boredom of painting a painting…We’ve done that for generations. I had to break away from that because it was boring." He died on December 21, 2016 in Cathedral City, CA.
