Bent Lauridsen was born in Copenhagen in 1926 and educated at the Royal Art Academy in Copenhagen during the German occupation of Denmark in 1945. Lauridsen was a private pupil of Professor Vilhelm Lundstrom until 1947. Lauridsen debuted at the Artists free exhibition in 1946 and took many study tours to Paris, Italy and Spain. Lauridsen is known for his series of powerful post-impressionist works featuring ballet dancers, children and interiors.
