Born in the United States and working all across the country as an interior designer, Candice Johnson moved to Paris in 1992. Johnson lived there for eleven years, using the city as her inspiration. Even after returning to California in 2003, she is tied closely to the City of Lights in her life and in her art.

When Johnson describes her process, she says, “When I paint, words, ego, and the desire to please the world disappear.” This attitude is apparent in her evocative paintings, full of vibrant color and striking emotion.
