Gabriel Picart was born in 1962 in Barcelona, Spain. By the age of 20, Picard was working as an illustrator around Europe. Soon thereafter, he began working with notable U.S. and Canadian publishers and advertising agencies. In 1996 he decided to paint exclusively and no longer worked on illustration commissioned work. His paintings focus on the human figure with wondrous results. The works of Picart can be found at some of the most distinguished galleries in the United States.
