Jennie Tomao

Jennie Tomao was born in New York City where she attended the prestigious New York School of Music and Art. Throughout her 40 year career, she has received numerous awards, both locally and nationally, including the Award of Excellence from the Pittsburgh Institute of Art. Tomao is renown not only for her magnificent landscapes but also for her figurative work and beautiful still lifes. Her palette is both jewel-like and muted – light glistens off the focal objects, sometimes actually glowing with their inner radiance. Her style is strongly reminiscent of George Innes in its quiet feeling of warmth and space. Jennie is a great admirer of John Singer Sargent, Jan Vermeer, and Hovsep Pushman. Her work has been exhibited in Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades, San Diego, San Francisco, Palm Desert, Laguna, Portland, LaJolla, Tustin, Vancouver, New Orleans, Palm Beach, Carmel, Orange County, Santa Monica, Las Vegas, Florida, and Japan. Tomao is an internationally published artist. She is currently a featured artist with Winndevon Art Group, Seattle, Washington.
