Born in 1954 in Plattsburg, NY, Katherine LeClair received her BFA in painting and drawing at Arizona State University. LeClair works exclusively in monoprints, and feels that it is vital for an artist to have an emotional bond with the subject being rendered. She considers herself a physically oriented person and has said about her method of creation: “I work from light to dark in a manner which achieves a somewhat traditional, painterly appearance.” Her work has been shown across the country, and is currently exhibited in public, private, and corporate collections in New England.
