Naturally curious from a very young age, Lee Phillips has always loved to experiment. Encouraged by his Father, a carpenter and general contractor, Lee would apply construction materials such as resins, paints, and epoxies to wood and sheetrock, yielding exciting results. It was while attending art school that Phillip’s love for the unorthodox was cemented; his latest work achieves new heights through the employment of dynamic textural concepts, individualistic painting approaches, and the utilization of hot glue, woods, linoleums, and resins. The primitive aesthetic of Lee’s pieces are appreciated and exalted in public and private collections around the world.
