Lorraine Platt

British artist Lorraine Platt was born in Cheshire and studied fine art and English literature at the University of London. Her vibrant still lifes and landscapes take their cues from Van Gogh, Matisse, and Gauguin, with thickly applied and heavily textured paint that creates luminous color and depth. Her artwork has appeared in the pages of “Art Business News” and “Homes and Gardens Magazine” and she was included in “The Dictionary of Artists in Britain Since 1945” and “Watercolour Still Life, A Master Class.” She has also spoken on art at Oxford University and the British Sociology Association. Her work appears in the collections of Coutts Bank, the Saudi royal family, and in private and corporate collections in the UK, Tokyo, New York, Germany, France, and New Zealand.
