Michael Lavery began his artistic career at an early age, drawing and painting prolifically by the time he was six years old. This eventually translated into a degree in Fine Arts from Massachusetts' Amherst College in 1982. Using the "plein air" style of painting, Lavery and his wife, artist Diana Luchetti Lavery, live and work in Southern California's famed beachside art community of Laguna, with their four sons. Lavery paints nature-rich scenes from around the country, including Martha's Vineyard, the Maine coast, Catalina, Hawaii and, of course, Laguna Beach.
