M. P Gerald was born in Ancash, Peru in 1963. His father was a painter and his mother an acclaimed ceramist which played a major role in his own artistic growth. Gerald attended Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes de Lima and was guided by master painters Miliber Cajahuaringa and Miguel Angel Cuadros. In 1988 he graduated from the renowned art school with a second place prize and a few years later his artwork was presented in many shows including: Galeria 2VS (1989,1994), Gaelria Alianza Francesa (1992,1993), Museo Pedro de Osma (1992) . In 1989 he was awarded the first place prize in “ Arte Joven” which was organized by Galeria 2VS and the third place prize in a National Contest formed by the Hotel Crillon.
