Nenad Mirkovich was born in 1950. The son of a prominent painter, he mastered his father’s methods of painting. As his talent grew, Nenad developed his own original techniques which he has become well known for in the art industry. In Belgrade he earned a career position as chief illustrator for a weekly entertainment and news magazine which had over 2000 applicants. He decided to pursue his artist career full time in 1985 when he left the magazine and moved to Houston, Texas. He focuses on the beauty of his subjects ranging from people in quiet or active poses, or far off landscapes. “I am always traveling in my dreams to the places in my paintings, and when I paint people that appear in the painting, they become part of my close circle of friends. It is always difficult for my family to sell a completed piece; however, it brings a smile to my face when I know that someone else is sharing my thoughts when they see my paintings.”
