Peter Fellows

Born in 1955, Peter Fellows found his passion when he was five years old; for his fifth birthday present, Fellows’s grandfather give him an instamatic camera and he was immediately enamored with photography and the control he could exert over an image. Fellows studied Multi-Disciplinary Design at the North Staffordshire Polytechnic, and earned his degree in Surface Pattern Design and Photography. After the completion of his studies, Fellows became heavily involved with the commercial field of surface design, which primarily involved products of interior design. In the early 1990s, Fellows returned to his childhood passion and made photography his main focus.

Fellows believes that photography allows him to completely immerse himself in his surroundings. His work is influenced by American photographer Eliot Porter, and his background in surface design still saturates his imagery. His favorite images are those with simple compositions and an inherent calmness.
