Alan Hunt began his prolific career as a wildlife painter over 50 years ago. With wild animals as the subject of his paintings, it comes as no surprise that Alan Hunt studied zoology at Leeds College and Bristol University before he studied art at Middlebrough Art College. Hunt has travelled around the world, camera and sketchbook in hand, to view is subjects in their natural environment. Having also worked with animals both in the wild and in captivity, Hunt knows his subjects thoroughly, to the point where he no longer needs to complete a sketch prior to painting.

Currently, Hunt only paints endangered species with the hopes that his work will help alert the public to the beauty and majesty of the animals and the danger that they face. Hunt works closely with environmental groups to raise funds for conservation work.
