Born in Georgia in the former USSR in 1957, Alfred Hoffman displayed skill as an artist from a very young age. Hoffman attended the Tbilisi Academy from which he graduated with great recognition. He exhibits his great talent using bold color schemes and contrasts. His artwork often focuses on rural landscapes with an emphasis on impressionism, although he also creates beautiful urban cityscapes and more abstract paintings.

People often encouraged Hoffman to display his work further afield than his home city and to make use of the international art contacts that he forged, but he resisted following these suggestions for many years. Eventually, he felt the need to be exposed to more stimuli and new environments and moved to the United States. It is here that Alfred Hoffman continues to develop his artistic style and create beautiful paintings.
