Callahan McVay

Callahan Mcvay is native to the Pacific Northwest, a hot glass artist who is held in high esteem, and was brought up on Whidbey Island. This small island north of Seattle, WA is known for it's notable glass artists. Growing up in this artistic environment had a profound effect on McVay, and nurtured his interest in the art of glass. His passion to create his art forms began during his first year of high school. And it was at that time that he knew that he could best express himself through glass. With the encouragement of his instructor and mentor, Bob Michell, who saw his talent, Callahan started to hone in on his dream to become a glass artist. His love of glass blowing for Callahan is that this art form permits him to constantly change and grow as an artist. While it employs ancient techniques, it openly welcomes something new. Callahan's works are included in several private and corporate art collections in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. A great deal of distinguished architects and designers have commissioned Callahan to create glass work for their most discriminating clients.
