Denton Lund grew up in New Jersey and, after serving in the United States Navy, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in New York City and the Pratt Institute. For many years after school, Lund worked as an illustrator and designer in New York for large corporations. Later, he moved to New Mexico to pursue his dream of painting Western, Native American, and wildlife themes. His most recent artwork combines those themes with elements of Impressionism and mysticism. He currently resides in Wyoming, near the Black Hills of South Dakota.
