Jaime Hagi was born in El Callao, Peru in 1960. He studied painting at the renowned Catholic University of Peru in Lima and he also studied under the tutelage of famed artist Cristina Valvez. She has been exhibiting her work steadily for two decades and her art is collected by some of the most prominent collectors in Peru and the United States.
