British artist John Mould was born in 1958 and raised in a small village in Staffordshire. Mould cultivated an interest in animals and wildlife from a young age, nursing sick and injured animals and birds back to health. This led Mould to begin painting the small creatures as well, and soon he was being commissioned to paint portraits of people’s pets. He began to create artwork for companies such as Wedgewood and produced wildlife sculptures for Waterford Aynsley. His most recent artistic preoccupation is painting large cats.
