Lindsay B. Scott was born and raised in Belawayo, Zimbabwe. Being surrounded by a plethora of exotic wildlife inspired Scott’s art since childhood. Scott worked as a botanical researcher at the University of Cape Town, which helped her gain familiarity with the animals that would soon be the subjects of her artwork. Scott is known for creating intensely details works with both pencil and paintbrush, and she “hopes that what I do encourages people’s desire to learn more and preserve what precious little resources are left…Nature is the most healing thing on this planet. I try to bring a little bit of that indoors.”
