British artist Nigel Hemming was born in the village of Kinver, Staffordshire, in 1957. Growing up in rural England fuels his choice of subjects for his paintings—mostly animals and landscapes. Hemming spent a year at art college and after dabbling in education, decided to become a professional artist. He began painting pet portraits to make ends meet, but canine portraiture has become his passion. He skillfully captures the personality and spirit of these friendly creatures and tries to create a narrative through his stunning artworks.
