Rita Simon's works are powerful visuals. Simon reaches beyond conventional understanding to create "un-worldly" concepts that she fantasizes. Her intense dream like pieces are shroud with mystery. Simon's fascination with mirrors is quite apparent in the manner in which she spells backwards. In 1971 and in 1974, Simon's work was displayed in the windows of dozen Madison ave. galleries, which brought her a significant amount of attention and press coverage. Simon is a graduate of Cornell University and the Academy of Rome in Italy, Simon has writen for a variety of art magazines and has put together theme exhibitions including "Reality Plus" at the James Yu Gallery in Soho.
